Nobody knows Leila is Zeus's granddaughter. To cover for Callista, her husband Damon tells everyone the child Leila is carrying was fathered by a rapist. Leila seals her unborn baby inside crystal, divorces Damon, and then shows them all that the crystal carries the marks of both Ares and Zeus. She lays Callista's scheme bare and calls down the judgment of Olympus on her. Damon doesn't get death. He gets something worse, an eternity of regret spent watching Leila live happily with Orion.
