The story
He left a villager and came back an emperor. Nobody knows.
When Leo Lowe left home, he gave his fiancee Tina Leed his word. If he ever became emperor, he'd come back for her and make her his empress. Years go by, and he does it. He founds a brand new dynasty and takes the throne. So he heads back to the village to keep that promise, dressed like any other villager. What he never expected was to be stopped at the gate of his own hometown and made to pay just to get in, by people who have no idea they're shaking down their emperor.
