The story
Five years following him, and she was living there illegally.
She gave up her career to go where her brigadier general husband went, and ended up on the base with no standing at all. He handed her military dependent slot to the girl they sponsored, then changed the lock on their home for her. She left in the middle of the night and started again in a new city. Seven years later they cross paths at a military arts festival, and he is full of regret, and she is already standing beside someone else.
