The story
Rejected, and her sister will not let it go.
Jade laughs at her for it, says she always knew, says nobody would want a wolfless, and admits she is surprised someone like her found a fated mate at all. It stings because it happened exactly that way. Then Mother claps and announces Jade will be mated to the fourth wolf prince, one of the illegitimate ones, which Jade decides she can live with because a prince is a prince. The crowd goes up as the princes arrive, Dorian and Antonio and Emmet, all three of them illegitimate.
