The story
She asks out her best friend and the whole school watches it go wrong.
Skylar Heron has spent her life being invisible, and senior year opens with her asking Jamie Donner out in front of everybody and being humiliated for it. Jamie has been her best friend and the boy next door since they were children. They get paired for a class project, and then his house burns down and he moves into her room. His ex girlfriend makes life difficult for both of them, so they set about turning Skylar into the most popular girl in school.
