The story
She got her hearing back and told nobody.
The first thing the heiress hears is the people closest to her planning what to do about her. So she keeps the recovery to herself and lets them go on believing she cannot follow a word, which turns out to be the strongest position she has ever been in. She goes back through the strange things that happened to her, listens to conspiracies discussed over her head, and works out how to put every one of them in front of the truth.
