The story
She sent her daughter somewhere safe. It was not safe.
Jessica is the Wolf Queen and she has had enough of war, so she hides herself in the woods as an ordinary healer. She sends her daughter to the Russo pack believing it will give the girl a normal, happy life. The Russo pack treat her daughter as a slave, humiliate her and beat her, purely because she arrives with no name and no power behind her. When Jessica understands what she has done, she goes to get her daughter back and to make every one of them pay.
