The story
Five years of loving her dad's best friend in secret.
For five years Evelyn has been quietly in love with her dad's best friend, Jacob. The night before her father gets married, Jacob comes back and Evelyn finally goes for it. He holds out, out of loyalty to her dad and because of how much older he is. Then one night, out by the pool, he gives in. Their secret affair is intense, until Evelyn's mother makes Jacob call it off and his ex makes it hurt even more. Jacob goes along with it and breaks Evelyn's heart, to spare her something worse. When it all comes out, Jacob has to face her father's rage. But her father sees how real their love is and gives them his blessing, and Jacob and Evelyn finally stop hiding.
