The story
A month of captivity, and her family called it acting.
Claire comes home from a month of captivity carrying trauma she cannot hide, and her brother Maxwell leads the humiliation, certain she is exaggerating. The trauma gets harder to explain away by the week, and Maxwell starts to doubt his own judgement. He works it out far too late. Claire gives up on ten years of loving these people and walks, and only then does he understand that the truth was never what he decided it was.
