The story
Clara never stops talking. Her new stepbrother has not said a word in two years.
Clara is eight, and there is no silence she will not fill. Then she moves in with her new stepfamily, in a huge house where everyone keeps quiet and her talking is treated like something wrong with her. Tommy is four, he is autistic, and he has not spoken since he was two. Clara does what she always does and keeps telling him stories, and slowly, Tommy starts to answer. Now an eight year old has to stand up to a whole family that thinks quiet is what keeps him safe, and show them that a voice can come back when someone simply refuses to stop talking.
