Three years of contempt from the family he protects.
Victor Dalton begged Harold to look after Grace before he died, so the Gamble King buried his name and did it, quietly, for three years. What he got back was ridicule. He takes it right up until three days are left, and Grace is tricked by a friend into a position that will cost the Daltons dearly. Harold sits down and wins it back with the skill he never told them about, then leaves. Grace works out what she had only once he is gone, and starts looking everywhere.
