Grace gave up her career for her family, then found out her husband Raymond was having an affair with Vanessa, and that they had a child together. The divorce left her with nothing. So she went back to medicine and came out on top, as the celebrated director of Apollo Medical Centre. Then Julian, Raymond's son, is brought in with an aortic aneurysm that could kill him. Grace agrees to operate, even after the way that family has treated her. They don't trust her, they hound her, and they injure her gifted surgical hand so badly it never recovers. The operation can't go ahead and Julian dies. Even then the family won't let up, until a showdown at a formal dinner brings out a shocking truth. Julian was never Raymond's son at all.
