Emma Caldwell learns Derek has been cheating and ends up with August Hughes, who happens to be her partner in business. To keep the scandal off her, she pretends everything with Derek is fine, and Derek talks her out of leaving him at every turn. August has a reputation the tabloids enjoy, and he ignores all of it to come after Emma properly, because one night was never what he was after.
