The story
She went undercover to bring down her captain. Then she started falling for her.
Mia is a star young cop, and Internal Affairs Director Vance sends her undercover into the 15th Precinct to dig up proof that Captain Victoria is corrupt. Victoria is cold and hard on her from the start, but Mia can't help being pulled in by how tough and quietly fair she is. When Victoria takes a bullet for her during a raid on the docks, Mia's guard comes down for good. Then the only son of the Oversight Director is murdered at a gallery. Working the case together, they find out the mole is Leo, a colleague they both trusted, and when he lures them to an old chemical plant wired with C4, Victoria shoots him dead. But Vance isn't surprised by any of it, and Leo's file has been wiped clean. Mia realizes she's been used. Vance plans to turn Leo into a fallen hero and pin his death on Victoria with Mia's own gun. Mia tells Victoria why she's really there, and Victoria, heartbroken, throws her out. Vance puts Mia under house arrest and spends 48 hours trying to break her with a fake confession and the threat of life in prison. She holds out. And while she does, Victoria is quietly building the case against him, right up to the press conference where Vance means to call Mia guilty on live TV.
