The story
He set the fire himself, with his daughter inside.
A firefighter stages a blaze at his own home for his mistress's drill, trapping his three year old. The mother watches it on the security camera and he waves off everything she says, calls the child illegitimate and puts the assessment first. As the nursery goes up, the daughter appears still apologising for being bad. He only breaks when the charred remains, the melted necklace and the final recordings surface, and forgiveness is not on offer.
