The story
Married off in her sister's place, and she ran.
Dragons rule the continent, and Lydia's family hands her to the savage Dragon King Lucian instead of her sister. She flees into the night and shelters in a cabin buried by a blizzard, where she finds a dragon shifter whose power is tearing loose. Saving him costs her something she does not get back. The next day she is captured, her dragon pregnancy exposed, and she is branded unclean and dragged onto the trial platform, while Lucian tears a scale from his own heart to cast a tracking spell and find her.
