The story
Her son's fiancee put her in intensive care. She waited for the engagement party.
Gwen Grant was a celebrated medical professor, and after retiring she goes back to St. Paul Hospital, where one of her patients is Emma, the woman her son Ethan is about to marry. A single checkup is enough to uncover Emma's affairs, a serious illness, and the way she's been violently abusing the hospital staff. Then Emma lands Gwen in intensive care. Gwen doesn't fight back, she bides her time. At the engagement banquet, with all of New York's elite there to watch Emma step into high society, Gwen walks in carrying Emma's medical file and evidence of every single thing she's done. Emma is never going to be a Grant.
