He promised her a hundred chances. She is using up the last of them.
Odysseus has hidden the fact that he is Apollo's demigod son. He cannot take Queen Antigone's throne, and his vow gives her a hundred opportunities to prove she deserves his trust. He saves her kingdom, only to discover her with somebody else. Betrayal follows betrayal as he is framed and tortured, each wrong bringing her closer to the end of his promise. When her chances run out, his power returns. The vengeance waiting on the other side may cost him more than the queen ever did.
