Maya cleans for a living and raises Lily almost entirely alone, going without so they can get by. Then she finds out Adrian has money, and has been spending all of it, and all of his affection, on his first love and her son. Maya leaves with her daughter. What surfaces afterward is that she is the daughter of a fallen war hero and the long lost heiress of the powerful Harrington family. By the time Adrian has lost the business, the family and them, he is on his knees, and Lily has one line left for him.
