The story
Her hearing returns in time to hear what he really thinks of her.
Layla's parents died saving Elias Cole, and the trauma left her unable to hear or speak even after her sight recovered. Elias learned to sign and promised to protect her. Ten years later, a new student called Molly helps turn school into a cruel game, and Layla discovers Elias is part of it. She can hear them now. She lets them believe otherwise while she records the abuse. By the time Elias wants forgiveness, Layla is preparing to leave with the evidence and a future that doesn't depend on him.
