The story

Ella grows up unwanted in her stepfather's house, and after her mother dies she is nothing to him and her half brother but a way to make money. He even spends her college tuition, so she works nights at a bar to pay her own way. One night she is drugged by a customer and rescued by a drunken stranger, Edward, and they end up spending the night together. Two months later she is pregnant, and her stepfather tries to force her into an abortion so he can sell her off at a better price. Edward arrives just in time, takes her home, and stands firmly by her through every insult and scheme thrown at her. Ella grows from a timid girl into a brave one, wins his heart, and safely brings their child into the world.
